Our vision is that sustainability is second nature in all businesses

We are sustainability strategists, climate and environmental scientists, biodiversity and water experts and human rights specialists. We bring deep, subject matter expertise and business know-how to deliver robust, market-leading sustainability assessments and advice to ensure companies meet global standards, market expectations and legal requirements while demonstrating leadership on climate, nature and social issues.

We pride ourselves on staying curious. We analyse your business, its operational set-up and its sustainability challenges. In our partnerships with clients, we see ourselves as a critical friend.

We are a team of biodiversity consultants, climate and nature risk consultants, and human rights consultants but we don’t just advise; we do. We deliver large-scale sustainability programmes, and bring practical experience of the challenges and opportunities of bringing about real change in a corporate setting.

Our values

Being nature positive is our driving purpose, the foundation on which our business was built and from which our values arise. We all need to act at scale for nature, and this is our call to action for ourselves and our clients.

Values matter. They bind an organisation to achieve its mission and drive behaviours daily. As a team, we strive to…

Have purpose

Have purpose

Our purpose is clear and drives us every day. We challenge each other to put our values into action through our work and to remain focused on our goals. It is about creating a working environment that enables our colleagues to make a tangible difference for our clients, the planet and its people.

With our clients, we act as critical friends, providing support and giving meaningful and expert advice that directly addresses their issues and delivers effective outcomes.

Stay curious

Stay curious

Curiosity is the spark that drives good conversation and an understanding of another person’s motivations and issues. At Nature Positive, we remain curious about each other, making sure we understand the different perspectives in our company. We consider how our work can be continuously improved. We are curious about the future. We don’t stand still. We ask, “what is next?”

With our clients, we listen and understand first. Solutions come second. We are curious about your company, what you do and your challenges regarding sustainability. We see curiosity as being the primary behavioural trait of an effective consultant.

Succeed together

Succeed together

By working together, we can do more, scale bigger and achieve more impact. In our company, we play to each other’s strengths on projects and solve complex problems together. We value supporting each other to grow and progress as a team. We foster partnerships with a broad range of organisations, including businesses, academic organisations, non-governmental organisations and civil society, to achieve sustainable outcomes.

As consultants, we take partnerships seriously to deliver projects to our clients. In our engagements, we prioritise openness, transparency and clear communication. This builds trust and understanding, agreement and buy-in around scope, objectives and deliverables, and project discipline and clarity about responsibilities to ensure we deliver what we promise.

Value every voice

Value every voice

We value diversity of ideas, approaches and skills. We aspire to be a company in which everyone can bring their true selves to work. We believe that diverse backgrounds, identities and experiences make for a more enriching and successful workplace. We recognise there is work to do within our industry and business to be representative of the communities in which we work. We remain committed to establishing a diverse and inclusive team.

We work with clients who share this value. Successful sustainability projects require a range of voices and identities to be heard and considered. From senior leadership and operational teams to a multitude of stakeholders across the value chain, sustainable change needs buy-in from all those who are affected.

How we can support you

Your business – every business – relies on healthy nature and a stable climate for its future. Yet the world finds itself facing climate breakdown and a global biodiversity crisis that exacerbates social inequality.

In response, the political agenda is shifting, new laws and regulations are landing and market, customer and employee expectations are changing. Businesses are now expected to act for nature, climate and people, but how?

These issues are complex, and how they interact with your business is more complicated. We aim to simplify this complexity, providing evidence-based and business-driven advice and strategies to help address these challenges. We strive to help businesses capitalise on the commercial advantages of placing sustainability at the heart of their organisations.

In July 2024, we became a participant of the United Nations Global Compact and the United Nations Global Compact Network UK: a voluntary leadership platform for developing, implementing and disclosing responsible business practices.

World Business Council for Sustainable Development

Through RSK’s membership, Nature Positive has participated in the World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s nature-positive and nature-based solutions workstreams. We have brought our experience from working with businesses on biodiversity assessments and strategies, as well as designing and delivering nature-based solutions, to helping mainstream a proactive business role in biodiversity across wide-ranging sectors.

Capitals Coalition

We are proud to be part of this global collaboration to explore challenges and opportunities to co-create solutions to advance the coalition’s approach to decision making.

Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures forum member

In 2022, we were invited to join the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) global forum to guide and provide input on developing a nature-related risk framework. Since TNFD’s launch, our team has worked closely with its adopters and brought a wealth of experience in applying emerging methodologies and frameworks to evaluate nature-related risks.

Science Based Targets Network adviser

We are delighted to be an Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) expert adviser, recognised by the SBTN as a preferred service provider to support organisations on their target-setting journey.

Our impact

We believe that business can be a positive, transformational force for nature, climate and people. We strive for sustainability to be second nature in all businesses, including ours.

We view our impact through three lenses.

  1. Understanding and managing the environmental and social impacts, risks and opportunities of our own business, as guided by our group sustainability strategy
  2. Enabling our clients to address environmental and social challenges and opportunities measurably and demonstrably across their operations and supply chains
  3. Collaborating with our peers to accelerate the global sustainability transition
